About Proteus
Proteus is the name of one of the Greek sea gods. Proteus is Homer’s prophetic “Old Man of the Sea”, who is also famous for his adaptability. Proteus could change his form to whichever shape he pleased. His name has become synonymous with versatility. I chose his name for my business to reflect my ability to adapt to a document project’s requirements. I also live by the sea and have that association with Proteus as well.
About Barbara Kelly
I love the precision of technical communication and the problem solving required in any communications project. The name Proteus resonates with me because it also illustrates the creativity involved in communications projects.
I completed a technical communication certificate program in 2006 at Vancouver Island University. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in linguistics from McGill University. I really enjoy all aspects of document development including content development, information design, writing, editing, testing, and production. I am always happy to learn new information and software tools. I am equally comfortable taking on an entire project or working as part of a team, your team or my team.
Barbara lives with her husband, three children, and dog on Vancouver Island.
